Summer Camps Start June 8th!

We’re excited to announce our summer camp offerings from June 8th to July 31st! We have camps for all ages this summer with both in-person and virtual options. Our STEAM camps range from Fairy Tale Science Pre-K in the Center to Virtual Animal Room visits and Minecraft. The safety of your children and our staff is our highest priority during this time, so please read our camp guidelines carefully. Can you add this to science newsletter Families need to register online, as we are no longer able to accept day-of onsite registrations.

LIVE MATH MONDAY

Join Jess as we check on all of our turtles and the temperature of their enclosures! We’ll be going enclosure to enclosure so tune in to check on your favorite turtle friends. Tune in at 1 pm. Watch on Facebook Live | Watch later on YouTube 


TUESDAY ANIMAL OF THE WEEK

Alligator Snapping Turtles are the largest freshwater turtles native to North America! Native to South Carolina, these turtles have a camouflage mouth and an adaptation called a vermiform on the tip of their tongues. Follow along in our Instagram and Facebook stories on Tuesday to learn about this unique species.


WONDERFUL SCIENTIST WEDNESDAY

Check out our blog on Wednesday. Bertha Parker Pallan was one of the first, if not the first Native American woman to be recognized for her contributions to the field of archaeology! Bertha is known for discovering the site of Corn Creek by finding a fossilized camel bone sticking out of the ground.


THURSDAY LIVE LUNCH LESSON WITH JESS

As nature lovers it’s important that we protect wild spaces for everyone to enjoy! Join Jess as she makes a zero-impact campfire and discusses the seven Leave No Trace Principles.
